IESL
In the next couple of weeks, you will be receiving registration forms in your classes. Please be sure to fill out the entire form, and let us know what your plans are for the upcoming quarters. Thank you!
VACATION QUARTER
If you are planning on taking a vacation quarter during the summer, please come and talk to an advisor, preferably before you book your plane tickets. Don’t forget to get your I-20 signed before you leave. Please come in 2-4 weeks before you plan to leave the USA. We also recommend coming back to Auburn by September 21st to give yourself at least three full days to rest and settle in before your fall classes start.
PEER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We are looking for Peer Volunteers for Summer and Fall. Applications are available at the IP Front Desk and the deadline is May 11th at 5:00pm.
HOUSING
1) Moving out for the summer? Are you going to be gone for summer? Want to keep your your host family? If you answered yes, please tell your host families now! To hold your room, the policy is to pay 1/2 of the rent for the time you are gone for any length over 30 days. Please pay BEFORE YOU LEAVE. If you are moving, let the host know.
2) Thinking about adopting or purchasing an animal (pet) while you are here? Please wait until your college life is over. Most animals live for many years (some up to 20 years). It is a big responsibility to take care of yourself, let alone a pet while in school.
What can you do if you’ve already adopted one and are moving on? Animals require daily care, exercise, medical treatment, licensing and a lot of your time. They can destroy where you live and cost you lots of money. They get bored easily, can chew on furniture and claw carpet.
Animal abuse or neglect is illegal in the United States. Think twice before adopting or purchasing an animal while you are in college. Please be sure the animal has an opportunity for a new home by contacting one of the following local organizations before you go:
Seattle Humane Society
Regional Animal Services
